Two intern opportunities
We are recently hiring two interns focusing on PEM electrolyzer experiments:
Subject:
Implementation of control and characterization tools for electrolyzers
Description of the Internship Project:
The Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Water Electrolyzer (PEMWE) is regarded as one of the most promising technologies for green hydrogen generation from renewable sources. Control and characterization of PEMWE systems are important to ensure their proper function and monitor the internal states of the PEMWEs. For this, research activities are developing in FEMTO-ST / département énergie / SHARPAC team. One 1-kW testbench dedicated to PEMWE system control and characterization is also in process of development. The internship work will then be linked to the development and application of this testbench. More specifically, the following three tasks will be programmed:
Realize a water circulation system with temperature and water flow rate regulations.
Realize the functioning tests of an electrolyzer specific DC/DC converter.
Realize the installation and tests of a current density measurement electronic card.
Install a specifically designed magnetic sensor and realize the planned electrolyzer tests.
Working Conditions:
The internship will be conducted in FEMTO-ST/FCLAB à Belfort in the framework of regional project. The intern is required to interact with PhD, postdoc, and research engineers in the team. A potential PhD thesis will be proposed to the intern with priority.
Applicants’ Profile:
Candidates should possess an educational background in engineering. Experience in hydrogen fuel cell or electrolyzer system design, automation, and testing will be a significant advantage. An ability to work collaboratively in a team setting is essential.
