Ph. D Thesis and Book Chapters

I completed my Ph.D Thesis in the P. M. Duffieux Optics Laboratory at the University of Franche-Comté from 1995 to 1999 and I defended it on january, 20 1999 with the following title: "Parametric amplication and frequency conversion, Frequency shift and Raman suppression in optical fibers" and with the review board :

E. DESURVIRE, Chef de groupe à Alcatel CIT, Marcoussis
G. MILLOT, Professeur à l'Université de Bourgogne
J.P. GOEDGEBUER, Professeur à l'Université de Franche-Comté.
H. MAILLOTTE, Chargé de recherche CNRS, Université de Franche-Comté
M. HAELTERMAN, Chercheur qualifié au FNRS, Université Libre de Bruxelles
E. LANTZ, Maître de Conférences à l'Université de Franche-Comté
P. TCHOFO-DINDA, Maître de conférences à l'Université de Bourgogne

During my Ph. D, I investigated both theoretically and experimentally fundamental aspects of nonlinear optical effects occurring in optical fibers such as self- and cross-phase modulation, optical solitons, parametric amplification, modulation instability and stimulated Raman scattering. I demonstrated in particular two novel techniques for efficient stimulated Raman scattering suppression using two pump lasers and Raman-assisted far-detuned parametric wavelength conversion in optical fibers. I also reported the observation of parametric amplification, degenerate cross-phase modulation, and vector solitons in highly birefringent optical fibers.

Sorry, my Ph.D was written in French ! But you can have a look to the figures or access my Ph.D works in english in my publication list from 1997 till 2001.
